How it works

Can I pull lists with DataSkip?

Yes. Pull targeted property and owner lists directly from the platform, then skip-trace them in the same flow.

What data is returned?

Owner first, middle, last, and full name, the property address (street, city, state, ZIP), the mailing address when it differs from the property, up to 10 mobile phones, up to 9 landlines, and up to 28 email addresses. DataSkip is not a background check service: results cover ownership and contact information, not criminal, credit, or employment records.

What hit rate should I expect?

Typical lists see a 98.9% hit rate. You're only charged for records that return a hit.

What counts as a hit?

A hit is a record we successfully match, meaning it comes back with owner contact data: the owner's name along with available phones, emails, and mailing address. A record that returns nothing is a miss, and misses are always free. No hits, no charge.

Is skip tracing legal?

Yes. Skip tracing is legal in the United States when used for legitimate business purposes, like reaching the owner of a property you want to buy. How you use the results is regulated separately: follow TCPA calling rules and check Do Not Call status before cold calling. DataSkip returns DNC flags on phone numbers to help.

Submitting

What file format do you accept?

Excel (.xlsx) or CSV in, CSV out. Results come back as a clean, organized file.

How big can my list be?

Up to 250,000 records per skip trace. Upload one file and the whole list processes in a single run.

Is there a minimum order?

No, there is no minimum order. Run as few or as many records as you need.

Can I run skips through an API?

Yes. Skip tracing runs through a REST API, a CLI, and a typed JavaScript/TypeScript SDK, published as the official npm package skiptrace. Pricing is the same flat 4¢ per matched lookup with misses free. See the developer docs.

Transactions & other

How much does skip tracing cost?

4¢ per hit from the dashboard or the developer API. Misses are always free and there is no minimum order. No subscription is required, and there is no volume discount on skips; the rate stays flat at any list size.
